Alto Partners SGR

  • Deal description:

San Remo Group has acquired a majority stake in Pastificio di Chiavenna from Alto Partners SGR.

The Pastificio di Chiavenna was born as a mill and pasta factory in 1868 in the center of Chiavenna, along the Mera river. Starting from the 60s, the Company has added to the production of durum wheat pasta also specialties from Valtellina (i Pizzoccheri) for the large-scale Modern Trade in Italy.

After having obtained the authorization by the Ministry of Health for the production of dietetic pasta, the Pastificio specialized more and more in the production of gluten-free pasta, pasta for children (baby food) and other dietetic pasta.
Today the Company employs 50 people, has annual revenues of circa euro 15 million, of which around 40% related to export, and produces 8.5 million kg of pasta.

The acquisition is aimed at supporting San Remo Group’s growth strategy in the pasta sector.

San Remo Group, founded in 1936 by Luigi Crotti is an Australian family-owned producer of private label pasta. The Group operates through a manufacturing facility located in Adelaide (Australia) and exports its products across 35 countries worldwide.

Vitale acted as sell advisor, assisting the shareholders of Pastificio di Chiavenna in the definition of the transaction’s structure and terms, in the management of due diligence activities and in the execution of negotiations with the counterparty.
