Alto Partners SGR

  • Deal description:

Panealba has acquired Artebianca Natura e Tradizione from Alto Partners SGR.

Artebianca Natura e Tradizione was founded in 1984 following thirty years of experience in the artisan bakery sector started by the Rovai family near Lucca in the 1950s. The company is active in the sweet pastries market under the “Artebianca” brand with a particular focus on the biscuits segment. The company’s products are sold mainly in Italy through the modern trade channel with presence in major brands (Esselunga, Coop, Conad, etc.).

In 2016 the private equity fund Alto Partners acquires the majority of Artebianca Natura e Tradizione through its subsidiary Dolciaria Val D’Enza.

Panealba, founded in 1982 near Cuneo, is a leading company in the production of breadsticks, croutons and snacks under the Panealba brand and biscuits under the Campiello brand (purchased in 2008) owned by the Tesio family.

The acquisition is aimed at supporting Panealba’s growth strategy in the Italian sweet pastries sector.

Vitale acted as sell advisor, assisting the shareholders of Artebianca Natura e Tradizione in the definition of the transaction’s structure and terms, in the management of due diligence activities and in the execution of negotiations with the counterparty.
